Bridging Design, Architecture, Research and Craftsmanship: How Paper Transcends into Dynamic Matter.

PERFECT IMPERFECTION: THE ART OF TRANSFORMATION
Paper Factor skins are created through an innovative processing technique that transforms paper into a solid, strong, pliable, and durable material. The process begins with selecting natural cellulose fibers and recycled materials, which are then treated with eco-friendly binders to enhance strength while maintaining lightness and compactness. The mixture is pressed at specific temperatures to achieve a density and texture resembling wood or stone, followed by manual pressing in molds and slow drying in a specialized chamber. Finally, the materials are trimmed, calibrated, and polished to achieve various finishes.

The slight irregularities in the surfaces, tonal variations, and distinctive textures give each piece its own unique character, shaping a narrative of materiality, craftsmanship, and innovation that holds the memory of its transformation. The beauty of vegetable skins lies in their imperfections. The singular nuances, subtle contrasts, and tactile sensations that drift from one point to another turn every piece into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. Paper Factor is surprisingly resilient: it won’t tear or wear down; instead, it will evolve over time, developing patinas and marks that deepen its emotional appeal – warm, natural and solid like wood, but also soft, gentle and velvety like leather.

A MATTER OF NATURE
Craft Innovation and Sustainable Design.
Paper Factor is the result of an alternative mindset - a responsible dialogue between human hands and the innovative technology applied to product refinement. Sustainable by nature, vegetal micro-paper represents an ideal fusion of artisanal tradition and experimental flair, with a strong focus on minimizing environmental impact and reducing energy consumption.

Key features of our eco-compatible vision include the commitment of a material designed to endure the test of time; the lightweight texture that facilitates efficient transport and handling; and the easy maintenance over time without the use of harmful chemicals.

Above all, all papers are either recycled or sourced from FSC-certified forests, using natural and water-based pigments for coloring and implementing the final finishing with low-energy consumption machines. Additionally, Paper Factor products are designed for reuse and repurposing, which helps extend their lifespan and reduce industrial waste.
